Test planning and estimation
18 min · Module 15
A test plan for a release/feature covers scope/out-of-scope, schedule, environments, data, responsibilities, deliverables (reports/defects), and contingencies.
Estimate by risk and change size, not by “number of screens.” Time-box exploratory charters. Use the Lab work board as your plan backlog.
Example / notes
# Mini plan for deploying Lab 1.1.0-rc (2 hours)
# In: QA-103, QA-104, QA-102, release flag checks
# Out: visual polish of settings copy
# Deliverables: reports + defects with release_version
# Contingency: if search broken, fail QA-103 and recommend block/hotfix
